Ian Smith

Co-founder Ian Smith started his real estate career in Dallas with Charter Properties, a development firm focused primarily on land and retail development. In 1996, he moved to Atlanta to join Southeast Management and Leasing Corp. and was responsible for the sourcing and execution of multiple development deals in the office, industrial and retail product lines. In 2007, Ian formed Knightswood, a real estate development and investment company that is active throughout the Southeast. Knightswood currently owns a diversified portfolio of real estate assets totaling approximately 1.6 million square feet. Ian also has extensive experience in the Savannah market. In 2013, Knightswood developed Victory Station, a $24 million shopping center. Ian is a graduate of Southern Methodist University, where he was enrolled in the honors program and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Today, he is actively involved with numerous organizations, including the Shepherd Center, Pace Academy and Tophat Soccer Club.
